Simple Machines: Students use Fischertechnik to create working models of basic simple machines. Fischertechnik is a family of construction kits that allows realistic, working models to be assembled. New doors of discovery and experimentation are opened for students and experimenters of all ages using an innovative system of interlocking building blocks, motors, sensors, lights, computer controllers, and software. *Student handouts: mechanical gears Observing Mechanisms
Bridge Building: Students create a bridge on the following scenario: At the same time the famous Tacoma Narrows bridge collapsed, another less known bridge, the Tacoma Canyon, collapsed as well. The site is fun and very educational for students to use and understand the forces that act on bridges. The program also allows parents to help their son or daughter in creating a bridge.
Inventor: Students use the Computer Added Design program to problem solve and create technical drawings to communicate ideas. *Student project: Peg Board Toy
