Students in 8th grade Technology must become employed by Athena Technology Incorporated by completing a senior employment application. All students are hired as senior engineers. The employee manual can be found by clicking here.

Class Projects:

• Robotics: Students use Fischertechnik to create working models of  robots and basic electrical circuits. The students create elevators, door alarms robots and traffic lights using motors, sensors, lights, computer controllers, and software. *Student handouts: Electric Motor    Automation

• Inventor: Students use the Computer Added Design program and build upon the concepts learned in 7th grade. The students must improve an already built invention and redesign using the software for improvement.    *Student handouts:  Reverse Engineering    Bracket

• Rube Goldberg: Students use the six basic simple machines and create a contraption to complete a simple task. This project is part of a nationally recognized competition with colleges all over the country taking part in creating the perfect contraption.
